Job description

Our client is a major consultancy who recently has been rapidly growing within the Water Sector and who is looking for multiple experienced professionals to join them on permanent basis.  

 

The office is based in Kent and the person would need to be able to travel there whenever necessary but the client is flexible with working arrangements.  

 

The successful Senior Clean Water Hydraulic Modeller will be joining a team of asset management professionals, hydraulic modellers and engineers in undertaking a key role delivering a major Framework for a key client.  

 

The candidate will be working at Senior Modeller level and must be able to adhere to technical, programme and budget requirements. They must also have a significant experience of clean water modelling, including experience in the assessment of operational incidents, asset management and model calibration.  

 

Main Responsibilities of the Role:  

Working in a team supporting all other departments across the client organization  

Interacting with suppliers and other stakeholders  

Data analysis and anomaly identification  

Technical report writing  

Be part of the Out of hour’s Standby Rota  

Proactive commitment to Health and Safety  

 

Essential Criteria:  

-Functional experience with water modelling packages such as InfoWorks WS PRO  

-Using hydraulic models for planning and operational purposes  

-Working knowledge of GIS packages e.g. MapInfo and / or ArcGIS  

-Experience in any of the following areas would also be advantageous:  

 

Development Impact Assessments  

-Modelling/network assessments to support DG2 investigations  

-Scoping of schemes within an Asset Planning environment  

-Modelling support for emergency incident response  

-Management and co-ordination of field testing for model calibration  

-Leakage: Leak detection, DMA reorganization and Pressure Management  

-Water Quality Modelling  

-Water Mains Rehabilitation  

 

It would be preferable for the candidate to have a Degree in Engineering / GIS or similar and be Chartered or actively working towards membership of an appropriate professional institution
