Our private client is currently looking for Mechanical design engineer for a permanent role in Midlands.
Full / Part time: Standard No Overtime
Overview:
We have a great opportunity for a Mechanical design engineer to join our growing team for AMP7 across the Midlands region.
This role will play a vital part in the overall success of our busy framework within Water, and you will be joining a growing team with a strong reputation in the UK Construction industry.
Responsibilities
Design of wastewater M&E assets eg. Pumping Stations, CSO`s & associated civil structures etc.
Equipment sizing & selection (pumps, mixers, pipework etc).
TMA, NRSWA coordination.
Early site investigation works coordination.
Early procurement of materials.
Attendance and input into internal and client design reviews.
Involvement with cost to complete / budget reviews with the contract delivery teams.
Negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors.
Preparation & management of project programmes and site work
Completion of technical governance gate paperwork
Assessment of programmed tasks & evaluation of forecast to completion, site management, mechanical isolation, approval of mechanical RAMS and mechanical test and inspection sign off.
Producing technical input into tender and subcontract paperwork, pre-start subcontractor meetings and outlining expectations
Assessment of subcontractor stage payments, documentation requirements and deliverables
Management of variation orders, non-compliances, and defects
Mechanical design duties including:
P&ID development, HAZOP, Hazards in construction and design risk assessment, development of mechanical and civil design drawings.
Mechanical design development and civil interface details from preliminary outcome requirement to completion of installation on site
Management of subcontractor work packages.
