Job description

My client is one of the UK’s leading independent environmental consultancies, specialising in environmental assessments, planning, policy advice and sustainability. My client's business thrives on people, and that means the right people performing in the right roles. They are currently recruiting for a full-time Health, Safety and Wellbeing (HS&W) Adviser.  

The HS&W Adviser is a key member of the Sustainability and SHEQ function, and you will be involved in HS&W across two key areas:  

 

Company operations:  

- HS&W strategy  

- The HS&W management system (45001 certified)  

- Collection, collation, analysis and reporting of HS&W data  

- Identification of training needs and competence requirements across the business  

- Accident and incident investigation  

- Workplace inspections and internal audit  

- In house training delivery  

- Service & project delivery support  

 

Working with the Divisional Directors, supporting their needs:  

- Supporting Project Managers to develop and implement HS&W management plans, and risk assessments for their projects  

- Bid and supplier portal support  

- Monitoring & assessing project HS&W performance

Requirements

- Advocate for better and safer outcomes for our staff, and clients and stakeholders  

- Passionate about people and places - the natural world and the built environment  

- NEBOSH Diploma, or equivalent  

- Membership of the Institute of Occupational Health and Safety (IOSH) or equivalent  

- Around 2-5 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally with some rail and infrastructure experience  

- Management systems knowledge  

- Trainer & teacher – able to help drive a learning culture across our organisation  

- Accident / incident investigation and reporting  

- Digitally literate
