Senior Business Developer.

  An Exploration and Production Company urgently requires a Senior Business Developer for their offices in Germany. The role of the job is to identify highly attractive E&P opportunities in relevant countries and the management of these projects through to signature of binding hydrocarbon exploitation contracts.

The successful candidate will network and liaise with internal stakeholders and external parties therefore good negotiating, interpersonal and communication skills both at strategic and operational level, the ability to liaise with engineering, legal and financial teams is essential.

Additionally, you will have a good understanding of key business drivers and well developed financial analytical skills. Further responsibilities and duties shall include but not limited: Develop and implement country entry strategies.

Identify and screen potential new business projects on the basis of public domain information and discussions with potential partners. Identify highly attractive E&P opportunities in relevant countries and manage these projects through to binding hydrocarbon exploitation contracts. Lead integrated, multi-disciplinary projects teams in the evaluation of new business investment opportunities, through to securing Board approvals. Contribute to setting of strategic objectives for the company.

Liaison with business development professionals in operating companies. Develop and manage relationship with National Oil Companies, industry players and energy consultants. Manage the incorporation of the Company standards of HSE, ethical conduct and environmental excellence to all E&P projects and activities. 10 - 15 years experience in the E&P industry.

Experience of working in an international company and in diverse operating environments. Direct experience of working in one or more of the Company core regions (North Sea, North Africa, Russia/Caspian, Middle East, South America) would be a distinct advantage.

A background, experience and relevant qualifications to be able to make a leading contribution in the technical and commercial evaluation of integrated projects, with experience in working within and leading integrated teams. Hands-on experience and a proven track record in deal generation and the management of integrated evaluation projects through to investment decision. A deep understanding of industry trends and directions, and competitor activities.

The ability to network across organisation boundaries and represent the company in high-profile discussions with International and National Oil Companies and host governments. Ability to be self-starter and to translate the high level company strategy into concrete investment opportunities.
