Senior EIA Project Manager - Permanent Staff - required by end of September 2010.
Working for a major international consultancy - active within all major sectors on an international basis.
The successful candidate would be required to manage environmental and social impact assessments for all types of energy infrastructure projects including thermal power plants, renewables, transmission lines and gas infrastructure in the UK and internationally.
The project manager would be required to manage and co-ordinate wide ranging project teams from within internally and externally if required.
The role is likely to include international travel within Europe, Africa, the CIS and Asia as well as within the UK.
Opportunities exist to be closely involved with a wide range of projects supporting international development goals as well as supporting the UK energy infrastructure replacement programme.
Duties include:
Setting up and managing EIA project team who may be geographically dispersed
Establishing communications protocols with project teams and clients
Specifying work programme and scope for inputs and deliverables
Client liaison
Liaison with other environmental teams within the group
Input to business development and proposals as required
Budget and programme management
Reporting on quality control
Providing inputs to sub-division EIA development strategy and training plans as required
Candidates should be educated to Degree level preferably with a post graduate qualification in an environmental subject.
Extensive experience as an EIA project manager for energy infrastructure projects.
Working knowledge and understanding of the technical nature energy generation plant and other types of energy infrastructure
Working knowledge of UK and international environmental standards such as UK, EU, IFC, EBRD and World Bank guidelines as applied to ESIA and to energy projects.
Working knowledge of the UK planning system as applied to energy infrastructure.
Proven ability to project manage large multi-disciplinary project teams to deliver on time and to budget.
Organised with a focus on achieving high quality deliverables.
Ability to work under pressure.
